With just a few short weeks till the New Year I’m sure you’ve said more than once “January 1 I’m going to hit the gym, or my new diet start 2010” You’ve started making those resolutions and checking them twice
Well why wait? Why do we always set a date to begin living a better life when that date can be now? You can even start gradually so by your magic date you’re already there.Well here are my few reasons why you should stop waiting and start your get fit/ new diet resolution today
- You have 2 weeks to get re-acquainted with the gym before all of the other January 1st people come.
- You still have time to catch the great Christmas sales on workout equipment
- If you start watching what you eat now, you’ll have less to make from that big Christmas Dinner that you would normally eat
- If you’re taking time off for the holidays you can get in a few extra long workouts while you’re free
- It’s not to late to ask that special someone to get you a gym membership or personal trainer for Christmas
- You’ll look and feel better in the New Years dress, if you start toning up now.
- It’ll be easier to sneak in a few crunches and squats while the kids are busy watching all of the Christmas specials or playing with their new toys.
- That extra burst of energy you get from a good workout will help you get through the last minute shopping and gift wrapping.

Filed under Featured, Fitness Beauty and Gear3 CommentsOct 5
Sorry we missed our Monday Magazine Round-up for today but I wanted to take today’s post and instead wrap up our 3 part series on work out hair styles with Part 3: Don’t do this to your hair.
In parts 1 and 2 I showcased 2 hairstyles that are great for working out and maintaining you hair, especially for African American and women of color. Well in this final part, I discuss some of the things you should NOT do to your hair. No matter the texture of your hair or the workout style you choose, these are a few common no nos which can cause damage to your hair during the workout.
I hope you enjoy feel free to let us know how you style your hair for workouts.

Workout Hair Styles- Part 2 Straight Relaxed Hair
Filed under Featured, Fitness Beauty and Gear4 CommentsSep 18
Here’s Part 2 of my Workout Hairstyles series, today’s post is for relaxed straight hair. This is a great style if you have a perm, new color, or for any reason want to keep your hair secure and out of the way while you workout. I focus on African American or Ethnic hair because that’s what I have but these styles can work well for a variety of hair types.
Over the years I have struggled with the dreaded issue of what to do with my hair when I workout, because of the frequent sweating and need for washing even a mild fitness routine can cause a lot of damage to hair especially for African American women .
I’ve found a few styles that have helped with this issue so I thought I would share these here with my Greedy Girls Fans in hopes of helping others get through their workout hair issues. Since I wear my hair in different ways they require different workout styles I have decided to break this up into a 3 part series to look at how to style varying textures.
Check out the other post in the series:
I hope you enjoy feel free to let us know how you style your hair for workouts.
