Here in the NYC Metro area there’s a new radio campaign about making healthy food choices. The announcers rattles off a few options of things you can eat and the best choice to make. This commercial got me to thinking “what a great yet simple concept”. Dieting, healthy eat, etc is really all about making the right choices. If you just arm your self with the knowledge of what you should be eating every meal situation can be healthier and easier. It doesn’t mater whether you’re at a restaurant, home, grocery store, party, etc. keep this list in mind and you’re sure to make the healthier decision.

- Choose grilled over fried
- Choose vegetables over fruits
- Choose frozen over canned, and fresh over frozen
- Choose broth over creamy
- Choose fruit over candy
- Choose fish over beef, pork, or even chicken
- Choose frozen yogurt over ice cream
- Choose herbs and spices over salt
- Choose water(even if you use a flavor packet) over juice and soda
- Choose wheat or white bread
- Choose Marinara over Alfredo
- Choose brown over white

This is a useful checklist to keep in mind. I should tell my hubby that the things on the left are what we can eat during the week, and the things on the right are for Sundays (his cheat day)
